Being that I am living in TN currently, this week’s Losing It With Jillian Episode 5 recap has a special place in my heart. Jillian’s family this week was the Vivios, a very very tall family in Springfield, TN. They are like the Jolly Green Giants on the farm, and so, they put Jillian in the barn to spend the night!
The best part of the show tonight was definitely the connection Jillian made with Elijah. The son who, out of all of the sons, wasn’t so much interested in sports, to the dislike of his father. Elijah apparently showed too much emotion for his father’s taste, so he was stuck trying to please his dad all the time.
You know you are going to live it up this weekend and maybe the lemonade diet pill is a good choice to help you get back on track. Maybe you have fallen off the wagon and need a boost to get back on! After all, summertime can be tough….BBQ’s, cakes, banana pudding, cookies, candy…there are lots of temptations to be had. So what can you do to help get you back to being healthy?
Also, you can follow Jillian’s new show, Losing It With Jillian, here at BurnFatClub.com every Tuesday night. Show airs at 8:00 eastern and we have the recap up within the hour. Come see what people are talking about and see Jillian’s most recent tips and tricks for weight loss.
Remember I posted the YouTube video of Bryan Gaynor, young college kid with scoliosis, doing his robot thing on SYTYCD (So You Think You Can Dance?) Well here he is with his entire “crew” RemotKontrol, performing on last night’s show. I am glad they are giving him a chance to do a real performance again because I just think he is so inspirational. Do what it is you want to do, no matter the obstacles in your way. Go Bryan and RemoteKontrol!
Sure we hear a lot of different weight loss tips from time to time but these are to make your fat gone FOREVER. It’s the difference between saying “Yea, I am going to TRY to lose weight” and “HELL YEA, I AM LOSING WEIGHT THIS TIME ONCE AND FOR ALL!” See the diff?
Weight Loss Tips
1. You don’t need any big plates. What for? So you can pile the food on extra high and avoid a few trips back for fourths or fifths (because trust me, your seconds and thirds are right there on that plate with your first serving). The smaller size plates are perfect for meals. I know it seems like that might be impossible for dinner, after all, isn’t that what a dinner plate is for? Think of it this way, the smaller plates hold one serving. If you absolutely MUST have seconds, go back and get them. But having the smaller plate makes you stop and think about it. Big plates = big bellies.
On this week’s Losing It With Jillian episode 4 – June 22, The Northern Family and some southern cooking in Goodlettsville, TN get a big ole visit from Jillian! Patrick, the daddy and Kim, the mommy are surprised by Jillian during a dinner of some southern fried foods! Patrick says “Tell her I’m not here.” Always joking and carrying on, Patrick definitely brings the fun to this Losing It With Jillian episode. But there is quite a serious side too.
Losing It With Jillian Episode 4 Recap
A year ago, Patrick lost his job, lost his confidence and parked it on the couch. Soon the whole family was right there with him, with Kim being the main breadwinner of the family and feeling the stress. Pounds started to pack on and before you know it, looming health issues are peeking around the corner.
Jillian has a hard time yelling at Patrick because he is just too cute and funny. But she eventually gets into the normal, screaming Jillian we all know and love and the family starts getting with the program. A trip to the rollerskating rinks brings some more laughs.
Ok, why do they keep making this stuff taste SO FREAKIN’ GOOD – Edy’s Yogurt Blends in Chocolate Fudge Brownie! Really, it is good stuff and definitely satisfying the chocolate need that a square of super dark chocolate just can’t do sometimes. When we are trying to lose weight, depriving ourselves is not going to cut it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week….so find something like this to splurge on (not eat every day) and enjoy!
Edy’s Yogurt Blends Review – Chocolate Fudge Brownie
First of all…really hard to eat just a half cup. I sort of make myself feel better by reminding the “nutritional label OCD chick inside of me” that this stuff doesn’t have any High Fructose Corn Syrup in it, but it does have lots of regular corn syrup and just plain old sugar. But the sugar! 14 grams of sugar in a half cup serving that is 120 calories.
Still…sometimes you gotta have a treat or two and this one definitely hits the spot. I like it a lot better than the Skinny Cow stuff I USED to like until I saw they use HFCS. This Edy’s Yogurt is much, much creamier and truly tastes like someone churned away at it for hours. And it does have active yogurt cultures for healthy digestion….that has to count for something, right?
Here’s the nutritional breakdown from their website:
|Amount per 1/2 Cup|
Calories from Fat
|Total Carbohydrates||19 (g)|
|Dietary Fiber||1 (g)|
I wish I could get it in a smaller container so I could refrain from eating half the bucket. Not a good idea when training for a 5K. Still, with proper supervision and discipline, I will be enjoying this Edy’s Yogurt Blends Chocolate Fudge Brownie Yummmminnessss for some time (in these super cute ice cream waffle cone bowls!)
Most of us know did not know Jillian Michaels before she was the hard-nosed, physically fit, trainer from the Biggest Loser but that has obviously changed.
Jillian is a great example that anyone can make a drastic change in their life and personal appearance once they are dedicated to do so. It’s not always easy but she is proof that it can be done. Continue reading
A lot of times I hear that it is too expensive to eat healthy and that cheap and healthy dinners to lose weight are just not possible. Even when I was watching Food, Inc. by Michael Pollan, this topic was discussed. The family couldn’t afford the fruits and vegetables on their budget so they went to the fast food drive-thru instead.
Cheap and healthy dinners are definitely possible and I know you can even SAVE money when you make the right choices. Also, remember portion control is important here too! When you start to keep track of what a serving really is, there is plenty to go around.
The main focus is buying what is on sale. I got red, orange, and yellow peppers on sale at Kroger this week 10 for $10. I can make so many different dinners from just those, a can of black beans and some rice. Oh and use your freezer! Chop them up and freeze them so you can use them later. I used to get frustrated because I was buying too much produce and it would go bad before I got to it. Now, everything gets frozen. One banana on the counter gets cut up and frozen for a smoothie. Grapes, strawberries, onions, sweet corn…try so hard not to waste anything.
Other great buys right now are squash and zucchini. I got about 4 zucchini for a little more than a dollar, and the same with the squash. Onions, whichever salad green is on sale, small peppers that are cheap but have a lot of flavor like jalapeno. Just try to spend most of your shopping time in the produce department, then get a few meats, and the staples of rice and beans and you can easily make a week’s worth of dinners.
Here are a few cheap and healthy dinners I have had recently:
- Sausage and peppers – Jennie O Lean Turkey sausage ($3.99 for 4 or 5 links), cut up into one inch pieces, and peppers on brown rice.
- Hot turkey sandwiches – on whole wheat bread, or pita bread, with tomato and onion or peppers, grill with a touch of olive oil. I spread one wedge of Laughing Cow cheese ($2 for 8 of them) on the bread too. Then for the side, frozen organic potatoes ($2.99) for the whole bag…can get 4 servings from one bag or sweet corn which at Publix right now is 10 for $3 I think. Cheap!
- Veggies and noodles – Zucchini, squash, cut into long thin strips, cherry tomatoes, tossed with whole wheat angel hair or spaghetti. Seasoned with salt, pepper and garlic, basil, dash of olive oil. Perfect.
- BLT salads – Turkey bacon, lots of greens, tomatoes, onions, and for the dressing, whatever mayo or mayo substitute you use thinned out with skim milk. Season with fresh ground pepper. Soo good.
- Chicken drummies a la easy – chicken drumsticks in the crock pot with barbecue sauce or Worcestershire sauce. Cook all day long, meat will almost fall of the bone. Side of broccoli or boiled cabbage on brown rice.
- Fiesta – Ice berg lettuce wraps with a stuffing of fajita seasoned lean ground beef (1/2 pound), black beans, rice and vegetables. SHORTCUT—- ground beef, cook it up and mix with two weight watchers Sante Fe rice and beans dinners (can get for like $1.50 each and even less with a coupon) and use this as the filling for your lettuce wraps. That would be enough for about 2 adults and 2 kids.
- Hamburger wraps — With the other half of the cooked hamburger, mix with ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions, maybe some leftover turkey bacon…wrap in lettuce wraps with tomatoes. Remainder of frozen organic potatoes as the side.
Try to always put a bowl of fruit on the table too. Those few grapes no one is eating, an orange you sliced up, a couple of watermelon slices. Then if no one eats the fruit, time to freeze for smoothies which are great “dessert” offerings!
Cheap and healthy dinners are very doable, but it takes planning and timing. This planning is an investment in you and your family! Finding what is on sale, in season and what you might be able to use for more than one dish are the keys to cheap and healthy dinners to lose weight.
So the big day is coming closer and you are searching for wedding diets that work and you want to get rid of wedding fat? Maybe you thought the weight would already be gone by now, but the stress and activity of wedding planning might have gotten in the way of your weight loss goals. Here are some wedding diets that work depending on the amount of time you have to get trim, either more than 30 days, less than 30 days, two weeks or one week.
Wedding Diets That Work – More than 30 Days Out
Even if you don’t have the full 90 days, P90X is the way to go if you have more than 30 days to get ready. Nothing is going to kick your butt more in the exercise department except maybe the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred videos. Either one, you will be looking hot on the big day and there will be no wedding fat peeking out of the top or arms of your dress.
Less than 30 Days?
The recommendation for this time span would be doing a plan like the Diet Solution or using Jillian’s website. They are both healthful eating and exercise and you still have enough time to get the results you want. The goal for these diets are keeping your sexy muscles and losing the fat so you will look good. Solid advice and sensible diet.
Wedding Diets that Work – Have Only Two Weeks?
The Lemonade Diet pill is the choice for anyone having 14 days because the product says you can lose up to 17 pounds in this time period. This is the one that Kym Johnson from Dancing With the Stars uses to stay trim. Like the Master Cleanse but you get to eat so you will have the energy you need for those last few days of planning.
Have only One Week?
Tough times call for tough measures. You are going to have to suck it up and do the full Master Cleanse like Beyonce did for her role in Dreamgirls. I would still eat SOMETHING though each day…spinach, apple, walnuts. I mean, you are going to need energy on the big day and don’t want to be depleted. People report getting a burst of energy on this plan but it’s after the first few days of detoxing where the side effects might be headaches, fatigue, constipation. So for this plan, you really have to think about whether or not those pounds are worth it. Otherwise, try the Lemonade Diet Pill and you will at least get half of the weight loss benefit and still get to eat every day. It’s basically the Master cleanse ingredients, lemons, cayenne pepper, grade b maple syrup, but in a pill.
Don’t forget that along with these wedding diets that work on getting rid of wedding fat, you also get a lot of rest leading up to your big day.
